Snow at School - March 2013

Snow has drifted to the extent that the main entrance into school is completely blocked.

The village has not seen drifts like this for many years.

The school site itself is shut due to the extent of the snow. The highlight may be the tractor that we have coming to help dig us out!

About our school

Burlington C of E School was built in 1877 for the children of workers at the local state quarry. It is located in the village of Kirkby in Furness, close to the A595 giving ready access for families in the village and those who commute through the village.

Burlington C of E School is a traditional village school which encourages a caring attitude among its pupils. The most recent OFSTED report judged the school to be an outstanding school where pupils achieve well at all stages.
